Description

The Bridgestone Blizzak DM-V2 is a touring winter tire manufactured for passenger vehicles and SUVs. It has great winter weather traction, gripping the road on both snow and ice thanks to its special tread design and the NanoPro Tech Multicell compound used in its manufacture. This compound's Hydrophilic Coating removes water from the tire surface to enhance winter weather traction, and wide circumferential and lateral grooves provide excellent hydroplaning prevention by channeling water and slush from below the tire footprint, increasing road grip on all snow and ice covered roads. The tire is branded with the three mountain peak and snowflake symbol, meaning it is capable of handling the harshest winter weather with ease. For a longer lasting tread life, the optimized road contact surface and flat footprint prevent irregular tread wear by distributing the forces of cornering, braking and accelerating across the tire surface, so the tread wears evenly and stays usable for a longer period of time. Tread depth indicators show when the tire is about to lose its great winter weather road grip: the Multicell compound is only present on the top 55% of the tread, after which the tread has an average winter weather compound that still grips the road well. The indicators show when the special compound is close to wearing out and, later, when the tire needs to be changed. The Blizzak DM-V2's winter road grip also increases its controllability and braking ability. The flat optimized footprint and increased block edges make the tire quick and accurate in its response to the driver's instructions, while the extra grip and better road contact area increase braking power and shorten the braking distance. As a result, the tire is safer to use, being more responsive and stopping shorter on snow and ice covered surfaces.
